Pete J Moszkowicz

Pete Joe “Peta” Moszkowicz, 89, passed away peacefully into God’s loving arms on Friday, August 25, 2017 in Houston, Texas. He was born April 25, 1928 in Chappell Hill, Texas to Mary (Lewandowski) and Frank Moszkowicz.

Pete grew up on the farm but eventually came to Houston and married Stella Stzelecke, where they made their home. They had four children- Lillian, Doris, Charles and Donald.

He was a longtime faithful member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He was active in many areas of the church such as the parish bazaar, Men’s Club, Golden Youth, bingo, money counting and ushering.

Pete retired from the Nabisco Company after 27 years. He also worked for Memorial Towers Apartments as armed security for 17 years.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing on the Brazos River. He was very patriotic and loved both the USA and his home state of Texas. He wore his cowboy boots and cowboy hat with pride. He played dominoes and loved playing cards, especially his “pitch” and Black Jack. His favorite baseball team was the Astros and during football season, he rooted for the Oilers, now known as the Texans.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Gertrude and Alex Twardowski; brothers, Stanley, Thaddeus (Teddy) and Isidore Moszkowicz; daughter-in-law, Jackie Moszkowicz; nephews, Michael and Joseph Twardowski, and Robert Moszkowicz.

He is survived by his children, Lillian Krolczyk, Doris Budnick, Charles Moszkowicz and wife, Mary; Donald Moszkowicz and wife Susan; grandchildren, Kristofer Krolczyk and Shelly Allbritton, Kasey Krolczyk, Crystal Kimberly and husband Jeffrey, Chaz Moszkowicz and Megan Moszkowicz; great-grandchildren, Weston Krolczyk, Madison Krolczyk, Morgan Allbritton; brother, Albin Moszkowicz and wife Barbara; and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Moszkowicz and Pauline Moszkowicz. He is also survived by numerous nieces and great nieces and nephews and great nephews.
