Peter Clifton Fornell

Peter was a faithful member of New Day Church, formerly White Oak Baptist Church, in Houston, Texas where he taught a Sunday School class for the entirety of his 55 year membership, right up until the 2020 closure of services, due to the current virus regulations.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. A former member of the United States Air Force, a 1958 graduate of Baylor University, and a licensed minister where he attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX, Peter was a servant in life in everything he did. His devotion to his family superseded everything, both in his career as a lifelong member of the National Association of Letter Carriers to his pursuit in the ministry. To put it plainly, family always came first. He loved holiday and family gatherings, including celebrating every family member’s birthday. He loved working crossword puzzles, reading, walking and playing dominoes.

He was married to Marjorie Jean Hebert on August 16th, 1958 and is survived by his wife, Marjorie, daughters, Tina Wohlgemuth, Sherry Ashley and husband, Steven, son, Darrell Fornell, grandchildren Chelsea Wohlgemuth, Clifton Wohlgemuth and wife, Kelli, Caleb Wohlgemuth and wife, Lydia, Tegan Ashley and Jenna Ashley, brothers Dennis Fornell, Larry Fornell and wife Marlene, Natalie Nelson and husband Michael, Pam Fornell and husband Spencer Black, brother in law, Ken Viste and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Laura Fornell of Barron, Wisconsin and sister, Kay Viste.

Serving as pallbearers are Darrell Fornell, Steven Ashley, Clifton Wohlgemuth, Caleb Wohlgemuth, Stephen Edwards and Aaron Dunahoe.

A visitation for Peter will be held Monday, February 22, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur at 1:00 PM, with a committal service to occur at 2:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
