Raivon DeWayne Cooper, 31, of Houston, Texas, passed away on July 20, 2023. Raivon was born July 19, 1992, in Houston, Texas, to Quinnetta LaShun Dugas and Johnny DeWayne Cooper. He joined Greater Truelight Missionary Baptist Church on May 7, 2006, under the leadership of Pastor T.O. Berry.
Raivon was a fun-loving and mischievous child. He enjoyed sports. He also had a passion for art, music, and cars. We knew him to be an extraordinary artist whenever he had a pencil in his hand. He loved playing board and video games with his nieces but did not let them win. Always saying that it will help them be ready for anything. He cherished those closest and dear to him.
Raivon shares a daughter with Dewann Jackson, Kehlani Rose Jackson (5), whom he absolutely adored and would do anything for her. He was both a gentle and protective father who loved to smother her with kisses and affection. There was this particular time when Raivon was staying with his sister, Tay. Kehlani overstepped and fell while she was jumping on the couch with her cousins Jaxson and Journee. Raivon came running so fast down the stairs, he picked her up and held her close, all while comforting and ensuring her that she was okay. Raivon has never loved someone as much as he loved her. Raivon’s legacy will live on through her and for this, we are eternally grateful.
Raivon lived a vibrant life and was always smiling brightly. He loved his family and enjoyed moments when we would get together for laughter, singing, dancing, and great times. There is so much to share about Raivon and how much we loved him and all the memories created with him. We will forever hold the last thirty-one years near and dear to our hearts.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Johnnie Lee Cooper and Alice Faye Cooper.
Raivon is survived by his daughter, Khelani Rose Jackson. His parents, Quinnetta L. Dugas and Johnny D. Cooper (Christine). His sisters Tashenique Cooper and Olivia-J’nae Jackson (Javonte), and his brother Treshun Standmire. Maternal grandparents, Mable Lewis Woodfork and Errol Wynn Dugas. Nieces and nephews Malayah, Miyah, Madyson, Journee, Aria, Amiyah, Essence, Jaxson and Khalil. His aunts Swader Hall, Vivian Cooper, Shuwanna Woodfork, Gana Dugas-Martin, Erica Dugas, Nyisha Woodfork, and Angel Milburn. Uncles William Cooper, Clifford Hall and Mark Martin, along with a multitude of cousins and friends.
