Randall Allan Linn, 72, was born on August 10, 1949, in Houston, Texas to Kelsie Chaf Linn and Mildred Bernice Cahal. He passed away on December 11, 2021 in Houston, Texas. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges. Despite the challenges, Randy came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
Randy had a passion for hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. He enjoyed having a good time with family, friends, and sharing a laugh with them at the deer lease or just hanging out at the bay house. Though there was ever a fight he was not willing to battle, he would prefer to be remembered as a loving and kind man. He was a proud Navy veteran of the Vietnam war where he was known as one of the “River Rats” along-side the Ho Chi Minh trail. He was very proud of his family, especially his children and grandchildren whom he made many sacrifices for over the years. He shared his passions with them hoping they would learn the importance of family.
He was survived by his wife of 44 years Bobbye Lynn Linn of Pasadena, whom he married January 21, 1977, son Jeremy Allan Linn and wife Alexis Dow Linn of Spring, daughter Jennifer Marie Walsh of Santa Barbara, daughter Shelby Linn Roye and husband Jason Blake Roye of Tomball, sister Bonita Faye Butler of Deer Park, grandchildren Aubry Joy Linn, Carli Shea Roye, Ainsley Grace Linn, Carson Blake Roye, Ryker Ricardo Walsh, Kat Zayla Walsh, Hollis Allan Walsh, sister-in-law Cathy-Sue Ware, brother-in-law John “Griff” Mercilliott and wife Donna Jones Mercilliott, aunt Margie Jones of Tomball, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents William Otis Linn and Lucy G. Wilson, maternal grandparents James P. Cahal and Eunice Vera Miller, and parents Kelsie Chaf Linn and Mildred Bernice Cahal.
The family will receive visitors Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home.
