Ray Adam Carabes, a beloved, kind-hearted, and faithful individual, passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 77. Ray was a resident of Missouri City, Texas, and was known for his dedication to his community and church.
Born on October 16, 1947, Ray graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in mechanical drawing engineering. His career as an engineer focused on designing offshore rigs, showcasing his remarkable skills and dedication to his profession.
Ray enjoyed shopping, particularly at JCPenney's, where he enjoyed looking for new suits or anything else that might catch his eye. His interests brought him joy and fulfillment throughout his life.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Ray was deeply involved in his community. He devoted countless hours to Lakewood Church, working with young adults, serving as part of Pastor Joel Osteen's security team, and acting as an usher for Sunday services for many years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Hernandez Carabes; father, Igenacio (Nacho) Suarez Carabes; sister, Mary Helen Provazek; daughter, Veronica Ann Lopez; and his best friend and beloved pet, D.O.G.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Carabes; sons, Jason Arechiga (Rita), J.P. Arechiga, and Donnie Jackson (Jeanne); granddaughters, Victoria Alvarenga (Sergio), Valerie Lopez, and Ashley Arechiga; grandsons, Travis Bennett, Jonathan Arechiga (Valeria), Jason Edward Arechiga, Trey Arechiga, Jason Andrew Donahue, and Morgan Jackson. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Ray at Lakewood Church, located at 3700 Southwest Fwy, Houston, Texas, 77027, on August 16, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Ray Adam Carabes will be remembered for his patience, gentleness, and unwavering faith. He was a very loving husband and cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed living life with his family by his side.
