Raymond Arceneaux Sr. was born to the late Frank and Emma Arceneaux on March 6, 1946 in Liberty, TX. He was baptized at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church (Liberty, Texas) in 1946. Raymond graduated from B.C. Elmore High School (HS) in 1964 and received his Associate’s degree from Texas Southern University (TSU). Additionally, he studied and completed Real Estate Courses at Houston Community College (HCC).
In the midst of attending college he was drafted to the United States Army (Vietnam war) and returned to complete his degree in Business at TSU. Upon completion of his degree he worked for Armco Steel and retired from Dow Chemical Company with nearly 30 years of experience. Raymond quickly learned that retirement was not for him, so he purchased a brand new truck and started hauling Cargo for local deliveries within Texas.
Raymond’s favorite job of all was being a loving father and grandfather. Family literally was everything to him. Not only did he give his family unconditional love, but he also shared his passion for cars, sports, hard work, traveling, hunting and the great outdoors. It was not uncommon for you to pull up to the Arceneaux residence only to find Raymond and the kids taking a car apart, so Raymond could rebuild the car in order to sell it or take it to the junkyard. He took them to swap meets, car shows, hunting, the ginger range, annual camping trips, water rafting, and traveling. The adventures were endless and you were always guaranteed a good time, followed with lots of laughs.
He was preceded by his parents, Frank and Emma Arceneaux and brother in law Donnie Dennis.
He leaves to cherish his memories with his beautiful children; Andrea M. Arceneaux Dibble (Dwayne); Amy E. Arceneaux Fields (Niko); and Raymond Arceneaux Jr. and Ray Williams (Hester).
Grandchildren: Caroled Medina (Rafael), Shatara Hubbard, Craig Morris Jr. (Chasity), Dwayne Dibble Jr., Chasity Smith (Devonta), Alyssa Fields, Niko Fields, Alexis Arceneaux, Rayshun Arceneaux, Raymond Arceneaux, Rayden Arceneaux, Tearra Beasley (John), and Brianne Cotton (Brandon).
Great Grandchildren: London Morris, Demarion Garner, Craig Morris III, Aniyah Morris, Evan Dibble, Jelahni Smith, Jaleyah Dibble, Devonta Smith, Gianna Smith, Xavier Medina, Carlin Medina and Aubree Edmunds.
He leaves to cherish his fondest memories; his siblings Charletta Clayton, Lawrence Arceneaux, and Vinita Dennis (Donnie).
