

Raymond Delbert Everett, Sr., age 93, father and grandfather of Alvin, Texas, was called to his heavenly home on May 14, 2023. He was born in Kansas City Missouri on August 11, 1929 to parents Edward Lindsey Everett, Sr., and Dorothy Clayton Anderson Everett. In 1945, he volunteered to join the United States Marine Corps during WWII and was trained at Marine Corps Institute, Washington, D.C., Machine Gun & M79 Grenade Launcher, Phase 1, Officer Jr. Ext *Crs Mine Warfare DemoScol Danang, RVN, Land Minw Warfare & Demolitions. He was deployed into Tsingtao, China in continuation of the war efforts. It was only a few years later when he was deployed to serve in the Korean War. He was promoted to 1Sgt E-8 rank. He met Myrtle (Pat) Lee Payne in Harlington, Texas and married on December 31, 1950. They had two children. After serving as USMC recruiting officer in Houston, Texas he was redeployed into the Vietnam War. The couple divorced in 1971. A few years later he married Kimi of Okinawa, Japan.
He was awarded during his service in the Military Good Conduct Medal w/5*, National Defense Service Medal w/1*, Vietnam Service Medal w/3*, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation (1960). After 22+ years of service he retired from the Military and initiated his career in the Oilfield Service Administration Industry. The couple lived in Pearland, Texas until Kimi’s passing on April 20, 2019.
He had a passion for horses that he genuinely enjoyed. Also he had a respect for all animals in general, especially dogs. Mr. Ray loved his family, friends, country, the USMC and his music.
Mr. Ray is preceded in death by his sisters Florene Aleatha Everett Holley, Dorothy Everett Doss, Lucille Everett Tewes, and brothers Edward Lindsey Everett, Jr., Howard Lindsey Everett, Charles C. Everett and most recently Wilbur Gene Everett.
He is survived by his daughter, Patricia "Pat" Lynn Everett Graham, husband Frederick Martin Graham, Sr., grandchildren, Rebecca Graham, Frederick Martin Graham, Jr., and Michael Graham. Also survived by son, Raymond Delbert Everett, Jr., grandchildren, Heather Nicole Everett, Heath Everett and Hollie Everett. He is also survived by foster son, Ricky.
Mr. Ray was loved and will be missed by many friends, neighbors and family.
