Raymond Wayne Killingsworth went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 20, 2017. God’s angels came for him peacefully while he slept at his Houston home with his wife, Jacque at his side.
Wayne was born in Mexia, Texas on December 22, 1945 to Raymond and Patsy Killingsworth. He graduated from Spring Branch High School and proudly served in the United States Army.
After being discharged from the Army, Wayne worked at several small jobs, and eventually began working at Modern Welding Company. He worked at Modern Welding for a total of 40 years beginning as a welder and ending his career as Plant Manager and Vice President of the Company. For several years Wayne had the privilege of working under the guidance of his own father, who also had a long career at Modern Welding. Wayne was a consummate “company man,” ever loyal and often encouraging others in the company to reach their own potential. Modern Welding also provided Wayne with so many very close friends. Even today they still connect and share stories of deer hunts, fishing trips and even company meetings that really ended up linking their lives together.
Wayne accepted Christ at an early age and really began to grow spiritually first at Woodhaven Baptist Church, and later at Houston’s First Baptist Church. He really loved being a part of a growing church family serving in Missions and in Preschool Ministry. In the last several years, he found an added place of ministry by being a committed prayer warrior for anyone who expressed a need.
Wayne loved his family dearly. On Monday Wayne was greeted with Heavenly arms by his father, Raymond (Jake) and his own dear son, Ray. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jacque Dyson Killingsworth, daughter Dena Norton (Rick), grandchildren, Ellie and Ricky Norton, mother, Patsy Killingsworth, sister, Pam Mayes (Gary), sister-in-law, Debbie Duke (Roy), and brother-in-law, Brad Dyson (Pam), and numerous loving extended family members.
Honorary Pall Bearers: Gary Mayes, Wally Hill, Randy Hill, Rusty Killingsworth, Brad Dyson and Roy Duke.
Anyone wishing to honor Wayne’s life in a tangible way
