

Raymond passed away peacefully October 20th, 2016. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Modesta Galvan - Schwalbach, his parents Clarence and Margaret, Brother Fred. Ray is survived by his four sons; Marshall, Terry (Vicky), Darrell (Diana), and Rodney (Michelle); Daughter Paula Pokorney; 13 Grandchildren; A large extended family and many friends.
Raymond proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955, as an Airman 1st Class. Upon his honorable discharge he began work at Humble Oil and Refinery were he owned and operated retail service stations for 37 years until his retirement from Exxon. Ray was born in Akron, Ohio and spent his adult life in Houston, Texas. He attended St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and was a loyal member of Elks Lodge 151 in Stafford, Texas. Ray was an avid baseball fan, his favorite team, the Houston Astros. He volunteered as an umpire for several years for Sharpstown Little League. One of his favorite joys in life were his pet dogs, all of which were named Sam.
Ray has left a lasting legacy and impression on all that had the honor of knowing him. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Celebration of Ray's Life: Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at 11:00am, with visitation one hour prior to the service, all at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ray's memory may be given to the ( DAV ) Disabled American Veterans
