Reginald Wayne Smithers Sr.

Reginald Wayne Smithers Sr. (Reggie) was born on January 20,1965 in Houston, Texas to the union of Clodis Smithers Jr. and Freda Joyce Powell. Reginal departed this life on September 3,2021. Most of his early years were spent in Houston, Texas where he attended Drew Academy. He later moved to Brookshire, Texas where he attended Royal High School.

He remained in Brookshire, Texas after high school and started a life for himself. In 1987 Reginald met Luisa Wiley and they later married in February 1989. Reginald grew up in a large family where he was the second oldest of 5 kids. He loved family gatherings, fishing, camping, and working. He was a very outgoing and positive man, always had a smile on his face and a fresh pair of starched jeans.

Later he dedicated his life to God by joining Soul Prospering Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Joan Lewis. HE served faithfully and was ordained as a licensed minister. He was a wonderful example of faith, hope and charity and was not afraid to share the gospel. He also served his community at New Birth Ministries as a leader and speaker under Apostle/Pastor Beverly Vaughn.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Ruby Powell, parents Clodis Smithers Jr. and Freda Joyce Powell, three brothers Anthony Smithers, Lefenus and Marshall Perry.

Reginald leaves behind to cherish his memories: wife Luisa Smithers, five daughters, Kristian Allen, Rachelle Kennedy, Janera Smithers, Pebbles Toliver-Jackson, Tamera Smithers: Six sons, Joshua Brown, Reginald Kennedy(Peewee), Reginald Smithers Jr.(Bubba), Laird Toliver, Janerick Smithers, Claudius Smithers: two stepdaughters, Brittney Scott, Lisa Wiley: thirty-four grandchildren: two brothers, Tommy and Telly Lewis: two sisters, Claudette Gordon and Trineice Smithers(Nikki): and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

A visitation for Reginald will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Paradise Funeral Home, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A committal service will occur Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 3:45 PM to 4:15 PM at Paradise Cemetery North, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088.
