

Mamá Reina nació el 2 de Agosto, 1938 en Santiago, República Dominicana a una familia humilde y trabajadora en la agricultura. Aun en la simpleza de una vida de campo, Reina disfrutó de una niñez llena de aventuras y amor incondicional. Desde su temprana edad, ella se caracterizaba por ese espíritu encantador y lleno de gracia que siempre vamos a recordar.
Reina dedicó su vida a compartir amor con todo el que cruzaba su camino; vez tras vez reflejo la luz de Cristo a través de sus acciones y compasión. Ella era una madre orgullosa de seis; los logros de sus hijos eran los suyos y llenaban su alma de un gozo sin fin, un gozo que iba creciendo con la cuenta de sus nietos y bisnietos.
En las palabras de su nieta, Kristin, “conocerla, verdaderamente era amarla. Ella era amiga de todos sin importar quienes eran, de dónde venían, que apariencia tenían, que idioma hablaban, que auto manejaban, que religión practicaban, ni cuánto dinero tenían o no tenían. Mamá Reina amaba, cuidaba, y hacía sentir al otro como realeza.”
Hoy celebramos la vida de Mamá Reina mientras ella pasa por las puertas del Cielo y es abrazada por nuestro Salvador. Su memoria está marcada en nuestros corazones para siempre.

Reina Veras was called home in the early hours of July 31, 2019, with her family by her side.
Mamá Reina was born on August 2, 1938 in Santiago, Dominican Republic, to a large humble and hardworking agricultural family. Despite the simplicity of a country life, Reina enjoyed a childhood full of adventures and unconditional love. Since her early years, she has been characterized by the gracious and delightful spirit that we will always remember.
Reina devoted her life to sharing love with all who crossed her path; and time after time shined the light of Christ through her actions of grace and compassion. She was a proud mother of six; the accomplishments of her children were her own and filled her soul with endless joy, a joy that kept growing along with the count of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In the words of her granddaughter, Kristin, “to know her, TRULY, was to love her. She would befriend anyone, and everyone; it didn’t matter who you were, where you came from, what you looked like, what language you spoke, what car you drove, what religion you were, how much money you had or didn’t have, Mamá Reina would love you, take care of you, and make you feel like royalty.”
Today, we celebrate Mamá Reina’s life as she enters the gates of Heaven and is embraced by our Savior. Her memory is forever imprinted in our hearts.
