

Reynaldo G. Martinez was born July 12, 1941 in San Benito Texas to Gregorio and Guadalupe Martinez. He passed away at his residence in Houston, Texas on November 1, 2021. Reynaldo (Ray) grew up in Harlingen Texas and graduated from South Texas Community College and Harlingen High school where he was a feature trumpet player in the Cardinal band. Ray worked in HEB grocery store in Harlingen TX where he met his wife Evelia L. Martinez (Gina).
Ray married Evelia Lozano and remained married for 56 years. He was employed with Baker Hughes Tool Company for 23 years. He started as a general machinist and gradually worked himself into a lead machinist in the “Tool Room”. The Tool Room otherwise known as a team assigned to highly technical specialized projects to support the manufacturing of oil and gas drill bits. Ray followed his tenure of Hughes Tool Company with employment at General Electric and Goodman Manufacturing.
Ray is Preceded in death by his parents Gregorio G. Martinez and Guadalupe Martinez. He leaves behind his wife Evelia L. Martinez, daughter Gina Martinez, son David Martinez and his wife Daravanh Martinez, granddaughters Crystal and Hannah Martinez, son Ray Ceasar Martinez and his wife Isabel Martinez, grandsons David, Sergio, Daniel. Leaving also his brother Robert Martinez, sisters Mary Campos and her husband Pete Campos, Bertha Ballesteros and her husband Johnny Ballesteros.
Services celebrating the life of Ray will be held on Saturday, November 13, at 2 p.m. at the Brookside memorial funeral home located at 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston Texas 77039.
