Rich "Pops" Bothmann

Rich Bothmann, age 71, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Houston, Texas. He was born on September 16, 1942 in Alameda, California to William H. and Mabel Bothmann. Rich graduated from East Bay High School in Alameda.

Rich proudly served his country by joining the United States Army and the United States Air Force, retiring after 22 years of service with the military. He was a member of the VFW and the Air Force Sergeants Association.

Rich worked many years in the trucking industry for Rush Truck Centers, UPS and Lend Lease Truck Leasing.

Rich had numerous hobbies, some of which included fishing, RV’ing and cruising.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel and John Williams; and father, William H. Bothmann. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Charlene “Charlie” K. Bothmann; his sons, Richard Bothmann, Jr., David Bothmann, Tim Bothmann and wife Lisa, Larry Bothmann and wife Carrie, Dan Bothmann and wife Wendi, Bill Bothmann and wife Heidi and Aaron Armstrong; his grandchildren, Hunter, Taylor, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Dustin, Emma, Dusten, Kendall, Robert, Michael, John and James; his siblings, William H. Bothmann, II, Kathy Pimentel and husband Joe and Pat Ferreira; his nieces and nephews, Michael, Kevin, Jodi, Christopher and Jennifer; and numerous other loving family and friends.

A celebration of Rich’s life will be held at 7PM on March 20, 2014 in the chapel of Brookside Funeral Home Champions, 3410 FM 1960 West, Houston, Texas 77068.

In lieu of the normal remembrances, the family request that memorial contributions be made in Rich’s honor to the charity of your choice.
