

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Bonanno Rhea and Julius Angeli. He is survived by his spouse of 62 years, Barbara Kay Cutler Angeli. Daughters: Andrea Mary Angeli Zimmer & spouse, Gary Zimmer, and Leah Nicole Angeli. Grandchildren: Mark A. Riddell & spouse, Marisol Riddell, Maria Nicole Angeli, Raquell Kay Riddell Becker & spouse Charles Becker, Elijah Allen Wheat and Wesley Dillon Riddell. Great-Grandchildren: Laila Nicole Angeli Barragan and Liliana Kay Angeli Martinez, SuzieQ Faye Riddell and Mariluna O'Mahoney Roman and Violet Andrea Becker. Also survived by two sisters-in-law, Wanda Alderman and Auba Jean Baker-Russell, brother-in-law Nathan Dean and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Richard graduated from Reagan High School and attended University of Texas and University of Houston. His career path included accounting and data processing technology in Houston and Dallas.
His hobbies included spoiling his great-grandkids and grandkids, traveling, genealogy, music, and keeping a beautiful yard. Upon retirement, he volunteered at Baylor Hospital. He was a plasma and blood donor for much of his life.
Richard was known for his compassion and generosity for the less fortunate and was not afraid to advocate for the causes that were important to him. He would not hesitate to speak up when he perceived an injustice. His outspoken honesty and opinions knew no bounds.
This very special man (Hunny, Dad, Grandpa, Papa, Brother and Friend) will be forever loved and missed.
A Memorial service will be held for Richard Allen Angeli at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress (9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, Texas 77095). Following the service, a luncheon will be held for friends and family. Details to be provided.
