Richard Lee Knight

Richard graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1977. He met and later married Dorothy Hetmaniak on March 25, 1982.

Richard was an avid Astros fan. He loved all sports. His life revolved around his children and grandchildren. He tried to attend each and every one of his grandkid’s games, whether it was softball for his girls or football/ baseball for his boys. He loved them all so much.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Mae and father, AC, as well as his brother, Andy and his grandmother, Maw.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Dorothy. One son, Aaron and his two daughters, Jessica Nicole, Ashley Ann (Adam). He took pride in his grandchildren, Chance, Madison, Landon, Payton, Austin, Jayden, Madalynn, and Jaxson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, his aunt Janet Raymond and sister, Becky.

Serving as pallbearers are his son-in-law, Adam Gideon, nephew, Ralph and grandsons, Chance, Logan, Austin, Carter, Landon Lee, and Jaxson James.

A visitation for Richard will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
