He joined the United States Air Force at age 20 and spent 26 years in the service. He proudly defended our country in both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.
While Dick loved flying fighters, he found his true life’s passion when he met and became friends with the famous jazz guitarist, Wes Montgomery, while living in Indianapolis, Indiana. He immediately started taking drum lessons, and began playing with local musician
friends like Dick & Betty Morgan, in Indianapolis, and was blessed to have played with Wes from time to time as well. Then, as the saying goes, “the rest is history.” Whether it was jazz, country, rock & roll or blues, music remained his true life’s passion until the day he died.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Charmayne Moody, and 5 incredible children, Carleen Fagan, Susie Pollard, Beth Ann Creed, Philip Pollard, and Samantha Fulford. He was also blessed with 8 grandchildren, and, soon to be FIVE great grandchildren.
