

Richard Clements Snapp, 78, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. Richard was born February 28, 1947 to Elaine and Victor Snapp in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Upon graduation in 1970, he went to work for Texas Eastern in Shreveport, Louisiana. While working in the Process Engineering Department, Richard met the love of his life, Ramona Blank, in 1975. They were married May 29, 1976, in Shreveport, Louisiana at University Church of Christ by Pastor Don Edwards. Richard’s employment with the company was involved in various departments, roles, and capacities. After 33 years of dedication, he retired at the age of 56. He enjoyed many years of tending to his vegetable garden and sharing that with family and friends. Also, he participated with the Houston Sail and Power Squadron. He contributed dedicated service to the National Ocean Service by providing reliable charting reports through the Cooperative Charting Program from 2003-2008. Also, he served as Commander from 2004-2005 and member of the E Board. In 2009, Richard attained his real estate license. As a real estate agent, he enjoyed assisting many people find their special homes.
As a youth, his grandfather, Ernest Clements, taught him about hunting and fishing, which contributed to his love of wildlife and camping. Traveling, touring Texas State Parks, camping, and RVing brought him and his wife a passion for the outdoors and wildlife. Another one of his many hobbies was his detailed research of his family ancestry dating back to the 1600s.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Elaine and Victor Snapp. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 49 years, Ramona Snapp of Houston Texas; sister, Linda Greuter and husband Tom of Springdale Arkansas; sister-in-law, Rhonda Ford, and husband, Mike, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nephew Ryan Greuter and wife, Sarah; niece, Amanda Hollingsworth; nephew Collin Greuter and wife, Ashley; nephew Justin Gross and wife, Sarah; niece Christine Woods and husband, Logan; along with 8 great nieces, 2 great nephews, and many cousins, family, and friends. Richard was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
