Richy Bright Stroud

Richy Bright Stroud, age 88, of Houston, TX passed away on October 22nd, 2021. She was born Richydean Rosebud Bright on April 11th, 1933 in Vinita, OK to James and Velva Bright. She was a graduate of Claremore High School.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lee R. Stroud (founder and CEO of Stroud Systems Inc.) of Houston, TX. Her loving parents, James Richard (Dick) and Velva Crockett Bright of Tulsa, OK. Her cherished brother Jack Bright of Tulsa, OK. Her only daughter, Dion Gardner Nodurft of Skagit County, WA. Nephew, Jeff Bright of Claremore, OK. Great nephew, Joe Jameson. And her special love, Jack Lythgoe of Twin Falls, ID.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Josephine Churchill (Patrick) and great granddaughters, Madelyn and EmmaRose Churchill of Houston, TX. Stepson, Brooke Stroud of Houston, TX. Her sister-in-law, Tennie Bright of Owasso, OK. Niece, Jaquina Bright-Dobson and family of Owasso, OK. Nephew, Doug Bright and family of Duck River, TN. Great niece, Marcia Warren and family of Gentry, AR.

In her time, Richy was proprietor of three businesses: Richy B’s Deli, Best Cellar Wines, and Allied Business Brokers before joining her husband's business, Stroud Systems Inc., as president. She was a member of her local church, Memorial United Methodist, and president of her neighborhood garden club. She also enjoyed traveling, hosting parties, shopping, visits to the salon, and the many cats she has had, all named Prissy.

A celebration of life for Richy will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
