

Robert Lee Curl, Sr. was born on December 5, 1944, and departed from this earth on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2021. This incredible gentleman was the center of the Curl legacy and demonstrated love for his amazing family.
Robert Lee was born to Rev. Robert Tracy “R.T.” Curl and Mandy Bell Sexton. His deeply devoted parents embraced him and his six siblings with love. Robert Lee accepted Christ at an early age.
Robert Lee attended and graduated from Sand Hill High School, in Chireno, Texas. He loved playing basketball and spending time with his classmates with whom he remained very close to over his lifetime. Growing up in a small community, Robert Lee recognized the value of making friends and was known to have never met a stranger. Upon his graduation, he moved to Houston, Texas in 1964 where he attended Texas Southern University. In 1966, he was united in marriage to Margie Nell Jones. They were married for over 54 years and had two sons.
He united with Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in 1966. He served his church through many roles, including Deacon.
Robert worked for and retired from Aldine School District after 30 years of service. Robert also had a passion for working in the yard, he was known for his green thumb and manicured yard.
Robert is proceeded in death by parents R.T. and Mandy Bell Curl, wife Margie N. Curl, son Robert Curl, Jr., brothers Coker, George, Sherman, Herman, sister Freddie Curl Murphy, and Aunt Leola Sexton Rodgers.
Robert Lee Curl Sr. is survived by his son Herman Anthony (Nichole) Curl, grandchildren Anthony Curl, Jr., Jordan Curl, Hailey Curl, Kylee Curl, Kadyn Curl, great grandchildren Christian Curl, Ari Curl and Kairo Curl, daughter-in-law Sherry Curl, Angela Wilson, brother Marvin (Teresa) Curl, sister-in-law’s Dorothy Curl, Pat Curl, and brother-in-law Frank Murphy.
He also leaves to mourn special friend Sheree Griffin and a host of family and friends.
