Robert Charles Harris

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race,

Robert, the youngest of four siblings, was born on September 18, 1950, in Eagle Lake, Texas, to Gladys Elizabeth Jones and John Harris. His brother and sisters affectionately called him Popeye.

Robert professed his Christian faith at an early age. He passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the age of seventy-five.

Robert graduated from Eagle Lake High School in Texas, earned an associate’s degree at Wharton County Junior College, and completed his undergraduate accounting degree at the University of Houston.

Robert began his professional career as a computer programmer and worked for Tenneco, Shell, Valic, Core Bridge and Accenture where he retired December 2024. He was passionate about his work and life, sharing his knowledge and values with his daughter Briana.

Robert married his wife, Tina, in July 1999, and they shared 33 years together. He valued time spent with family and friends and appreciated opportunities for travel. Robert maintained long-standing relationships with friends spanning over five decades, and enjoyed participating in and watching sports, attending lunches, and occasionally organizing social gatherings.

Robert is remembered by his devoted wife Tina, his daughter Briana Harris, his son Kameron Harris, his sister Ruthie Loving, his in-laws George and Mary Rhodes; brothers-in-law Tony (Robin) Maxville, Terry Rhodes, and Gary Maxville; bonus brother Douglas Davidson, also known as “Scotty” (Ester), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many treasured friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys Elizabeth Jones, John Harris, sister Hazel Elizabeth Carson, and brother David Jones.

A visitation will be held at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, located at 5510 W Sam Houston Pkwy N, Houston, TX 77041, on January 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

The Celebration of Life will follow at the same venue from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.

The committal service will take place at Cemetery Beautiful, 8401 Wheatley, Houston, TX 77088, on January 10, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 1:45 pm.
