Robert was a proud graduate of the St. Pius X High School class of 1961. Robert married the love of his life, Minnie Lou Cooper, in June 1963 and shared 44 years of marriage. Robert started Irwin Plumbing Company in 1969, which later became I & I Plumbing Company.
Robert discovered a passion for flying at age 30. In 2003, he became the 57th Earthrounder, completing a solo flight around the world in his twin engine Baron. In addition to flying, Robert had an enthusiasm for traveling the world, reading and learning about history.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Otha and Tholie Irwin, his siblings Geneieve Kjellander, Otha Irwin Jr., Stephen Irwin and Amanda Irwin, his wife Minnie, and his son, Robert Irwin Jr.
He is survived by his daughter Penny Irwin and grandchildren Paige Richter (Dakota), Peighton Irwin, Sydney Fitt, James “Trey” Fitt and one great-grandson, Lincoln Richter. He is also survived by his siblings LaRie Hamilton, Marie LeMoine, Nelda Mays and Andrew Irwin.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 24th at 11:00am. Funeral services will follow, starting at 1:00pm at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
