Robert Joseph Jamail was born August 8, 1925 in Houston, Texas, the son of Stefan Sam and Zahia Jamail. He died at his home in Shenandoah, Montgomery County, Texas on November 11, 2018. Robert is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Agnes and her husband Joe Greak, Freddie Jamail, and Louis Jamail and his wife, Kerry Murphy Jamail.
Surviving is the wife of the deceased, Carolyn Dowden Jamail and stepsons Randall Grimm, and his children Lillian and Allan Grimm, Robert Grimm, and his wife Sandra Hernandez Grimm and their children Julie Perez Vasquez and husband Uriel Vasquez and their daughter Sophia, Sara Ashley Grimm, and Christian Tyler Grimm and his wife Samantha Carillo Grimm and their son Noah Carillo and daughter Scarlet Rose Grimm and stepson Richard Grimm and wife Theresa.
Also surviving the deceased are nephews Joe Stephen Greak and his wife Betsy Harmon Greak and their children Angela and her husband Trajan Cuellar and their son Torin Cuellar and daughter Cadwyn Cuellar, Stephen and his wife Julianna and their daughters Madison and Morgan Greak, Nolan Greak and his wife Karen and their son Garrett and daughters Alanna and Nicole, Louis Greak and his wife Tommie Oran Greak and their sons Cory and Justin, and Jimmy Greak and his wife Denise and their son Patrick Greak, and David H. Greak and his wife Donna Butler Greak and their children Daniel and his wife Susan and their son Nathan R. Greak and Jennifer Greak Cannaday, wife of Kevin Cannaday and their children Jacob, Gage, Isabelle and Emma Cannaday.
Also mourning the death of their uncle are the sons and daughter of Louis Jamail, brother of Robert Joseph Jamail. Their names are John Jamail and wife Deanna Lee Jamail and their sons Bruce and Eric, Jeffrey Jamail and his wife Stacy Lyon Jamail and their daughter Meredith Zahia Tobler, and daughter of Louis Jamail Judy, wife of Jim Birdsong and parents of three sons James, Louis, and Thomas Birdsong.
Robert Joseph Jamail also leaves many Jamail relatives and a host of friends who will miss him and his wonderful sense of humor and great story-telling ability. To know him was to befriend him.
In lieu of flowers, Robert’s favorite charity is Ministries of Project Happiness, an organization that provides cloth caps made by volunteers for pediatric cancer patients that lose their hair due to chemotherapy. Robert Joseph Jamail personally spent hours helping his wife cut pieces from cloth scraps to make over 120 of these caps which are distributed by the Ronald McDonald House to local patients. Robert Joseph Jamail funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 8 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Angels at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, Texas 77023 with interment in the Jamail family plot.
