God blessed Joe with a fascinating life journey. He served his country with honor and courage in the U.S. Navy Seabees during the Korean Conflict. Upon return to civilian life he joined the Baton Rouge Police Department as a Patrolman, but later was elevated to the Louisiana State Police and served as a body-guard at the state mansion. In 1970 he moved to Houston where he met his soulmate and best friend, Patricia Tierney LeBlanc.
He eagerly participated in all phases of the performing arts, having played roles in movies, television, theater and modeling. However, his passion was performing with his trumpet in numerous Rhythm and Blues bands.
Although a proud graduate of Sam Houston State University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice, Joe was an avid life-long fan of LSU Tigers football. He was a member of the EO chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
He was predeceased by his parents, son James, infant son Patrick, brother Ruffin LeBlanc, sister Daisy Borne (Roger), sister Kitty Dispenza (Lawrence), and brother Bert LeBlanc (Kathryn).
