

Born on March 2, 1932, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Robert was a proud graduate of Lake Charles High School. He went on to build a successful career in general management, dedicating many years of service to the Truck and Trailer Equipment Company.
Robert was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Martha Malm McDowell, with whom he shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and commitment.
He had a deep passion for woodworking, card games, and helping others—interests that reflected both his creativity and generous spirit. Robert was known for his kindness, steady presence, and the joy he brought to those around him.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Malm McDowell; his children, Terri Gorsulowsky, Cindy Popeszku (Laszlo), and Carla Cardinal (Mark). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Matthew Gorsulowsky, Abby Gorsulowsky, Tyler Gorsulowsky (Kamia), Jonathan Cardinal (Kathleen), Jacob Cardinal, Hanna (Evan) Wilson, and Connor Popeszku, as well as 11 great-grandchildren.
Robert is also survived by his sister, Frances Altman.

Visitation will be held at Regina Caeli Parish, 8121 Breen Dr, Houston, TX 77064, US, on March 26, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by the Rosary from 10:00 am to 10:30 am, and the Funeral Service from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038, US, on March 26, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
A Reception will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, US, on March 26, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
