Robert P. Montoya

Robert P. Montoya of Houston, formerly of Corpus Christi, TX passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at the age of 78 years old. He was born in Corpus Christi, Tx on September 14, 1940 to the late Jose and Martha P. Montoya.

Robert served in the United States Army for four years and after returned and started J & M Auto Parts in the Northside of Houston. Robert was in business for 25 years before retiring. When he wasn’t behind the counter at J & M, he enjoyed being on the golf course. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed dearly.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Caroline Cantu Montoya; daughters Melinda Salinas(Jesus), Doris Calvillo, Diana Tovar; Gina Florez(Mike Jr); grandchildren Jesse Salinas III(Nikki), Alex Salinas(Elizabeth), Marisa Sanchez(Laurencio), Valerie Tovar, Nat Tovar IV, Jonathan Tovar(Brittany), Derek Tovar, Mikey Florez III, Breana Florez and fur grandchild Peyton Marie Calvillo; Great-grand children Jaxson Salinas, Lily James Salinas, Rosaleigh Salinas, Nickolas Sanchez and Lucas Sanchez; Sister, Francis Salazar (Roy), Sister in-law, Delores Montoya, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Robert is preceded in death by his brother Jose Montoya; son in-law Alex Calvillo and other family members that are welcoming him home with open arms.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm; with rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at the Pat H. Foley Funeral Chapel. Last viewing will begin at 9:30 am on Thursday, September 5, 2019 in the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Mass beginning at 10:30 am, burial following in the Houston National Cemetery of Houston. Pallbearers will be Jesse Salinas III, Alex Salinas, Nat Tovar IV, Jonathan Tovar, Derek Tovar and Mike Florez III; Junior pallbearers Jaxson Salinas, Nickolas Sanchez and Lucas Sanchez.
