Roland Hall, affectionately known as “Ron,” was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois on March 14, 1963 to Ms. Mildred Morris. He gained his spiritual wings on Thursday October 9, 2025 after an extended illness.
Ron attended public schools on the south side of Chicago and an all-boys high school on the west side, played baseball, and later joined the military where he served eight years in the U.S. Army. He later retired in 2021 after working many years for the Department of Defense in San Antonio Tx.
Ron was a man of many talents; a true handyman who could fix just about anything. He had a special love for his blue Eldorado and his stereo system, enjoying the simple pleasures of life with his own unique flair. By the age of 21, Ron was married and became a devoted father. As life unfolded and brought its share of changes, his heart remained firmly rooted in the love of family. Though he experienced two marriages, each ending in its own time, the bonds he formed were meaningful and lasting. Above all, his love for his children remained steady and unwavering.
Those who knew Ron will remember his honesty, humor, and unmistakable character. “Remember him for what he did, not what he didn’t,” his family says, a fitting reflection of the man he was. To know him was to
love him. What’s understood never had to be explained. He was truly one of a kind, a man who cannot be replaced.
Ron was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend whose unforgettable spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was always down for a good time with family and friends and was an avid sports fan.Though life brought its share of changes, Ron’s greatest joy was always his family.
He leaves to cherish his mother, Mildred Morris. Five daughters, Shasta Hall, Rhonda (John) Harrison, Latoya (Kristian) Mcgee-Willis, Rolanda (Alvin) Young, Makayla (Nana) Osei-Wusu. One bonus son Ryan Cain. Two sisters Melinda (Dwayne) Boyd, Angelea Morris. Three brothers Anthony (Wanda) Hall, Terrence Hall, Marvin (Socorro) McKinney. 10 grandkids, 5 great grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his grandsons, John Harrison III and Marshon Burch, and his bonus son Vincent Cain. Ron’s legacy will live on through the love he gave, the lessons he shared, and the memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him most.
