Rolland "Rollie" Clayton Kunc

Rolland Clayton “Rollie” Kunc, 71, of Richmond, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026.

A celebration of Rollie’s life will be held at 03:00 PM on February 21, 2026 at Friendship Church 4640 Richmond-Foster rd. Richmond, Texas 77406.

Rollie was born on December 12, 1954, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Ray and Myrna Kunc. He married the love of his life—his bride—Jeri Lee Gruber on April 6, 1985, in the home of his parents in Houston, Texas. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and enduring love.

Rollie dedicated more than 50 years to the commercial construction industry, serving as a respected Superintendent for many prestigious companies. He was known for his strong work ethic, steady leadership, integrity, and the pride he took in every project he completed.

Above all, Rollie was a devoted husband, daddy, papa, brother, “funcle” (fun uncle), and friend. He cherished his family deeply and found his greatest joy in spending time with his bride, children, sister, and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Myrna Kunc; his older brother, Michael Kunc; and his in-laws Violet and Jerry Gruber.

Rollie is survived by his beloved bride of 40 years, Jeri Lee; his daughters, Sara Joy Frierdich and her husband Ryan, and their daughters Emma, Sophia, and Abby; and Christen Haley Madigan and her husband Chris, and their children Stella, James, and River. He is also survived by his sister, Jeane Kunc; his nephew, Jamey Sakwitz and his wife, Lauren Sakwitz; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

In addition to the many people who loved him, Rollie had three small weenie dogs who faithfully stayed by his side until the very end—Texas, Cali, and Kansas.

Rollie’s legacy of faith, unwavering love for his family, and dedication to hard work will live on in all who knew and loved him.
