Ronald Lee Hurst

Ronald Lee Hurst, age 63, passed from this life on Thursday, February 7, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Ron was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who could always make you laugh. He was a successful salesman, a top notch mechanic, an excellent craftsman, and an avid golfer. Ron was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. He will be greatly missed by both family and friends.

Ron is preceded in death by his father Garnet Hurst. He is survived by his wife of 33 years Kathy (Kate) Hurst of Houston; his mother Twila Phillips of Springfield, Mo; sister Sharon Kimbrell of Springfield, MO; daughters Andrea Hurst of Lees Summit, MO, and Alicia Pritchard of Independence, MO; brother- and sister-in-law Mike and Gayle Mikel of Fort Worth; grandchildren Nick, Kendra, and Anna; niece and nephews Missy, Jeff, Jeffrey, and Andrew; and dog Emily Graced.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Golfers Against Cancer, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

A memorial service will be held for Ron at Brookside Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Monday, February 11, 2013. The Hearthstone Hack Rack will be honorary pall bearers. Special thanks go to Ron’s doctor Rachel Theriault and Corey.
