Ronald “Ronnie” Leggett, 67 of Richmond, TX, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday October 11th, 2018. Ronnie was born in San Antonio, TX July 4th, 1951, the son of the late Willis Elbert Leggett and June Wilson Leggett. Ronnie was raised by his late Grandmother Molly Leggett and Uncle James Henry Little & Aunt Maggie Little of Wharton, TX on a farm in outside of Wharton, TX. and graduated Boling High School.
He married Sandra Kaye Dufur on September 1, 1972. They celebrated 46 years of marriage this past September. For over 30 years Ronnie worked in Sales for three companies; Hi/Lo Auto Supply, Quality Forklift and Briggs Equipment. In 2006, Ronnie worked with is son in Commercial Landscaping until his health forced him to retire. Ronnie was a charismatic and lovable man with a larger than life personality famously known for his jokester costumes and pranks year round. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren where he loved being the biggest kid of them all. He never knew a stranger and was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Ronnie was a proud American and loved everyone who served our Country in the Military. He enjoyed being a part of the Scouting community, Hunting, Fishing, Lonesome Dove being his Favorite Western Movie, and BBQ. His passion for BBQ led him to countless competitions and dish soap trophies. This passion also served as a tool for him to help others in need. Ronnie would organize BBQ benefits that raised money for many families and Veterans. Ronnie became a member of Christ The Redeemer Catholic Church in 2016.
Memories of Ronnie will be carried on through his loving wife Sandra Kaye Leggett; Brother John Leggett and Sister-n-law Virginia Leggett of Splendora, TX; Sister Sherry Cupps of Beaumont, TX. Children: Cecilia Parker of Brazoria, TX , Kimberly Faye Leggett of Houston, TX, Rhonda Kaye Leggett of Houston, TX, James Ray Leggett and his wife Kimberly Lynn Horst Leggett of Richmond, TX. Grandchildren: Ashlee Parrish, Shara Flowers; Chantelle Parker, Dawayne and his wife Britnney Parker, Brittani Parker, Sierra Parker, Michael Joseph Buchanan, Kaylynn Raeanne Leggett, Gretchen Elizabeth Leggett. Great Grandchildren: William Parrish; Marrisa Parrish, Nathnel Parrish, Eliana Parrish, Denton Parker, Beverly Parker, Allie Kate Parker.
He will be joyfully reunited with family and friends.Brothers: Willis Ray, James Henry, Paul Henry; Sisters: Linda Kay & Molly Marth Susan; Great Grandson: Broxton Lee, Walter Baudat, Virgil Hodges and many more.
