Rose Marie Theall

Rose (Rosie) Marie Theall, a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed gently into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, the 29th of January 2012 surrounded by close relatives. She was born in Nada. Texas on December 25, 1932 to parents Rose and Henry Boenisch. She moved to Houston at an early age and attended Holy Rosary Elementary School and graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1951. She married Frank L. Theall soon after finishing high school and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past August.

She is survived by her husband: Frank L. Theall: Son Dwight David Theall and his wife Sue; grandchildren Amy Theall, Adam Theall and his wife Ann and Thomas Theall: great Granddaughter Abigail, daughter of Adam and Ann: sister-in-law Virginia Berreth and numerous cousins and nieces and nephews.

Rose had a marvelous, happy disposition and brought joy to all who knew her. She loved "Family" and enjoyed having large gatherings for a hearty meal wherever she lived (Houston, New Orleans, Colorado) She and Frank especially enjoyed making a large pot of seafood gumbo.

Rosie enjoyed arts and crafts. She was an accomplished "Tole Painter" and conducted seminars in Houston, Dallas, Amarillo, New Orleans, Colorado and Las Vegas. She was known as the "Vest Lady" as she taught her students how to paint on material. She also loved to paint on wood or shoes. Her home is still adorned with her prize pieces. In her later years she developed an interest in quilting. She especially enjoyed going to the annual quilt show in Houston. She even had the will and stamina to attend the past two years even with her poor health.

A visitation and Holy Rosary will be held on Wednesday February 1 beginning at 6 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM at Epiphany of our Lord Catholic Church in Katy, with committal to follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.

In lieu of Flowers the family would suggest that remembrance's take the form of a donation to the American Cancer Society.
