I had the pleasure of working with Ruben  while he was with Fluor, he was a great co-worker and  a pleasure to be around. My condolences to his family, he will be missed, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was privileged to work with Ruben for several years at Fluor Daniel.  I can honestly say that I enjoyed working with and socializing with him more than any individual I have ever known.  We have lost a truly great friend.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

My Daddy was the most loving and great family man.  He was always there for us when we needed him and I will miss him very much.  My children have a great void in their hearts as well as the rest of us. It is very difficult knowing that we will not see him anymore, but we are comforted to know that he will be up in heaven watching over us.

We were so sorry to hear of your loss.  The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.

Dear Sugie and Family, I am so sorry I wasn't there for you today.  I found out about it today, but the funeral was already over.  I didn't see it in the newspaper, and I didn't find out until today when Rory Flores told me. 
I tried to call you but your phone number had changed and I didn't know the new number.  My prayers and thoughts are with you, and with your family.  You are a wonderful madrina and friend, as was Ruben.  Again, my very deepest sympathies to you and may God continue to bless youu.  I love you and loved Ruben too and your family. Ruben was a wonderful friend and the greatest person ever, I admired him so much for taking care of his wife and family like he did. Take pride in knowing you have a special guardian angel watching over you. We will miss you Ruben. I'm glad you're with Paul now and our Heavenly Father.

To the Family: 

My deepest sympathy in the loss of a husband, father, grandfather and a friend. Ruben had been my friend since high school. I loved him like a brother. He was an amazing person and truly made you always feel like a friend and part of the family when in his presence. I know that he will be missed by all, but to the family the loss will linger much longer. It is okay to grieve, to replay in your mind those tapes of moments in life that will make you both laugh and cry. While we are never ready to give them up, thank God that you had him for a long time. My hope and prayer is that he knew Christ in a very personal way and is walking the streets of gold with Him right now.
Again, my deepest heart felt sorry for your loss. May the peace of God fill you hearts with comfort in times when you feel all alone and need a Friend.

The Lord has decided to take our Ruben.  My condolences to all of Ruben's families.  I have so many fond memories of the Gonzales family.  My heart goes out to each and everyone of them.  He will be missed.  My fondest memory and honor I had is when Sugie and Ruben asked me to be their Matron of Honor at their wedding.  I will never forget it.  We love Ruben.

I wiil miss my friend Ruben alot,although we only saw each other on our class reunions.We had a great time the last time I saw him about two years ago. Growing up in Donna, Texas I passed his house everyday, he lived very near to us.

I am still in shock the he is gone. Ruben really had a talent for making you feel like you were old friends even if you just met. Although we didn't see each other that much lately we kept in contact almost daily via e-mail. My thoughts and prayers are with the Family. God bless you Ruben. Rest in peace.

Life is fleeting and many times one is not prepared for losses like this. Ruben has been my friend for many years. He was a really remarkable person. He used to delight me with his stories of his travel to other countries and the cusine that he encountered. Although I never really met his family, I feel like I know them through Ruben's stories. His wife's welfare was of great concern to him but he seemed to be rebounding back to "our Ruben". Ruben Gonzalez was a Proud Veteran, Patriot and a true hero in my eyes. He always had a kind word for everyone and was willing to listen to anyone's problems. I can truly say that I do not know anyone personally who disliked Ruben. Ruben was "Old School" and he is the type of person who exemplifies and makes up the fabric of the Hispanic Community on Houston's Northside. I was very proud to have known him and be his friend. Speaking for myself and I am sure that all the patron's of his hang out, the Tall T, I loved Ruben as a friend and will miss him more than one can imagine. My condolences to his family. Please know that we will all miss him
