

Ruby Geraldine "Gerry" Rye went to be with the Lord Sunday evening in Cedar Park, Texas after a long battle with Alzheimer's of about 15 years. Gerry was a blessing to so many and a person that lit up any room with joy and laughter. Her mind has been gone for sometime, but she if finally free.
Ruby Geraldine “Gerry” Rye passed away April 27, 2014 in Cedar Park, TX. Gerry lost a long battle with Alzheimer’s, having been diagnosed at the age of 59. She was born February 1, 1939 in Houston, TX to Bonnie Faye Dover and Lloyd Marion Murphrey.
She graduated from Reagan High School in 1957 and was a member of the Reagan RedCoats. She also graduated from Lone Star College with honors in 1984. Gerry has lived in Houston, TX; Miami, FL; Montgomery, TX; Alto, NM; and Cedar Park, TX. She was the owner of Gerry’s Fashionables and Golden Mushroom Florists. A lifelong Baptist, she was a member of Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin, TX.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Joe T. Rye of Austin, TX; her sons George Wallace Tilley Jr of Magnolia, TX, Jeffrey Craig Tilley of Houston, TX and Jonathan Todd Rye of Murphy, TX; her daughter Crystal Lynn Mills of Magnolia, TX; her stepsons Gregory Lynn Rye of Omaha, NE and Darren Eugene Rye of Cedar Park, TX; her grandchildren; Michelle Lee Divin, Joshua Shane Tilley, Jason Michael Thiele, Jacob Ed Tilley, Craig Ryan Tilley, Christina Maria Tilley, Catherine Nicole Tilley, Jaden Tyler Rye, Jackson Todd Rye, Jaylee Ann Rye; her step-grandchildren Mikayla Lynn Rye, Grant Lynn Rye, Davis Ethan Rye, Danielle Elizabeth Rye; her great-grandchildren Lillie Marie Divin, Cole Wayne Divin, Levi Wayne Thiele, Trey Nicholas Tilley; and her sister Patricia Bleeker of Madisonville, TX.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024. The Funeral Service will be in the Chapel at 2:00 PM, Pastor Jim Stevens, officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, TX 77055.
