

Ruby was born in Davis, Oklahoma, the daughter of James Roscoe Faulkner and Lillie Horn Faulkner. She grew up in Luling, Texas and attended high school there. She went on to graduate at the University of Texas with a degree in Chemistry.
She was one of many speakers invited to present at an international conference held in major cities including New York, London, Paris, and Berlin. She worked as a biochemist at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Houston, Texas and later retired to invest in apartment and rental property.
Ruby enjoyed snow skiing, tennis, and scuba diving. She was a certified scuba diver and travelled with her children David and Laura to enjoy diving in Mexico, Cayman Islands, Belize, and Florida. Ruby also enjoyed the sport of racing Corvettes with the Corvette Club and was the proud owner of a 1967 Corvette Stingray. During her years racing cars, Ruby held the record for the fastest woman in a Corvette in the United States. Ruby was a Master Gardener and enjoyed gardening and raising orchids at her home.
Ruby is survived by her son David Summers (Diane Summers), and daughter Laura Mackey. She has three grandchildren, Paul Summers, Jacob Summers, and Robert Mackey. We will miss her greatly.
