Sadie attended the Eastside Baptist Church in Rayville, Louisiana where she accepted the Lord as her savior and was baptized in her early teens.
Sadie was in the 9th grade at Rayville High School when she met Jimmy on April 13, 1959, they fell in love, married on June 12, 1959 at Eastside Baptist Church. Sadie left school and began her new adventures with Jimmy.
She studied, tested and received her GED on March 19, 1980.
They were married just 2 months shy of 60 years when Jimmy passed away from cancer in 2019.
Sadie was alway a kind, loving and caring person. She enjoyed being around others and helping anytime someone needed her. Sadie and Jimmy raised 4 kids. Sadie was a Homemaker while her kids were growing up. She also, cared for many other children during that time. She always had sandwiches and Koolaid for the kids when they came in from playing. She kept the clothes washed and dinner was always ready when Jimmy got home from work. Then it was off to baseball practice or games for her son Jimmy. She served as a Team Mother for her son Jimmy’s baseball teams. She was always busy and loved meeting new people.
When her kids got older she started working.
Sadie worked for the City of Houston as a Laborer in Building Services at Bush IAH for 20+ years until she had to go on medical leave and retire. She car pooled with several co-workers during the years and became good friends with everyone she worked with. She would decorate and organize her departments parties. Everyone loved Sadie and her magic touches she place on each party.
Sadie was a wonderful loving and caring soul who will be truly missed by all who loved and knew her.
