He was born Nov. 2, 1949 in Corpus Christi. Santos is preceded in death by his mother, Paula Segovia Cantera, and father, Jesus Cantera, two brothers, Rosendo Cantera and Reymundo Cantera, and two grandchildren, Jordan Kaeln Cantera and Jordan David Cantera.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lucy Cantera; his daughters, Michelle Lujan Salas, Mercy Verdejo and husband Angel, and Lydia Cantera; and his sons, Marcus Cantera and wife Rosalind, Santos Cantera Jr., and David Cantera and wife Gloria. He raised one grandchild, Norma Anglin and husband Ethan, and her children. In total, he is survived by 17 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Santos worked for Houston Light & Power, Reliant Energy and CenterPoint Energy, retiring in 2011 following a career that spanned 30-plus years.
He enjoyed fishing on his boat and being around his family. One of his favorite pastimes was watching Western movies and television shows.
