Born in India, she emigrated to the United States in her late 20's, with very few resources, to build a life and family with her husband. Through hard work, resilience, and unwavering commitment, together they built stability, then prosperity, and ultimately a life filled with opportunity for their children and grandchildren.
She was extremely intelligent and endlessly curious. Her master's degree in Sanskrit stands as a testament not only to her intellect, but to her love of language and culture. She spoke Hindi, Punjabi, English, and Spanish- 4 languages, on a daily basis, moving seamlessly and gracefully between them, connecting with people from all walks of life.
She gave freely of her time, her resources, and her heart. She supported many charities in both India and the United States. She lifted up neighbors, friends, and strangers alike.
She faced more than her share of illnesses and medical challenges. Yet she refused to let any of them define her. Her energy, determination, and engagement with life never waned.
She leaves behind not only memories, but a legacy of intellect, strength, generosity, and perseverance.
