Sara Louise Winters

Born in Florence, S.C to Rosa and Charles Baxter. Married William Paul Clifford (Cliff) July 15, 1944. Cliff was in the Air Force, they had 5 children and traveled the world. When Cliff passed away August 7, 1972, Sara moved back to Summerville, S.C. She then married Joseph B. Winters from Tybee Island, GA. Jody passed away May 17, 1984. Sara moved to Florence, S.C. and continued her travels around the world. She moved to Houston, TX in Sept, 2001. For the last 3 years Sara suffered with dementia and was blessed to live at Cypress Assisted Living in Cypress, TX. She shared the house with 10 other residents suffering from the same illness but it was living with family. She was blessed to have some of the most beautiful hearted women caring for her every day. They made her final years happy.

Alzheimer's is a sad disease but families and friends need to accept your loved one may not remember their past but they do remember what is happening right now and you can still have a beautiful relationship with them. My mother's smile when I walked into her house everyday warmed my heart and there were times that she didn't remember I had been there the day before but that was okay, I was there right now. She would also remember that I called every night at 8:00 up.me. to say bedtime prayers with her, the provider would tell me she's waiting for you before she goes to sleep.

I can't thank Cypress Assisted Living and all the providers for the love they shared with her every day.
