

Shannon Dee Freeman, born November 21, 1969, in Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 56. He made his home in Katy, Texas, where he shared a loving life with his wife, Hilda Freeman.
Shannon was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Known for his warm spirit and easy smile, he brought joy to every room he entered. A talented drummer, Shannon had a lifelong passion for music. Whether playing for others or simply enjoying the rhythm for himself, drumming was one of his greatest joys and a reflection of his vibrant, creative soul.
Above all, Shannon loved his family. He found his greatest happiness in the moments shared with those he cared for supporting them, laughing with them, and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
He is survived by his parents, Bonnie and Harry Freeman; his brother, Michael Freeman, and sister-in-law, Elaine; his sister, Kristin Pternitis, and brother-in-law, Theo. Shannon was a proud uncle to his nieces Ashley Costello, Haylee Freeman, and Brittney Lewis, and to his nephews Cody Parsons and Connor Pternitis.
Shannon is also deeply mourned by his wife Hilda’s family, who loved him as one of their own: Hilda’s mom Paulina; brother Javier & sister-in-law Eloisa; sister Claudia & brother-in-law Andy; brother Jose & sister-in-law Paula; and brother Arturo & sister-in-law Leslie; sister-in-law Carmen. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews on Hilda’s side: Andy, Armando & Katie, Shannon & Jake, Olivia, Sophia, Amanda, Mily, Fernando, Fernanda, Cruz, Ezra, Daniel, and Juliet, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Shannon’s legacy lives on through the music he loved, the kindness he showed, and the deep bonds he formed with family and friends. He will be forever missed and forever loved.
A Gathering for Family and Friends will be held on December 14, 2025, starting at 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow on the same day from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
