Sharon K. Cole

Sharon K. Cole went to be with her Lord on January 18, 2013. She died at Methodist Hospital with her husband and her sister by her side. She was born on June 28, 1945 in Gary, Indiana to I.J. and Evelyn Murota.

Sharon was raised in Lake Station, Indiana. Always a hard worker and talented musician, she taught accordion and organ while still in high school and continued her industrious ways by working for GMAS in Gary, immediately after graduation from high school. She worked there, rising through the ranks to a supervisory capacity until her retirement in 2000.

Predeceased by her parents, her aunt and her sister-in-law, she is survived by her husband, Don Cole and sister Trudy Murota. Sharon will rest in peace next to her parents at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Sharon married Don Cole in 1992. They celebrated their 21st anniversary on June 1, 2013. Sharon was very active at St. Jerome's, where, in addition to serving on the parish council, she was an early and enthusiastic member of the ACTS community. Sharon served as the first director of the Women's English ACTS Retreat at St. Jerome. Always ready to help those in need, spiritually, financially, or physically, she loved doing things for people, and will long be remembered for cheerful giving. Sharon was truly a beautiful person that changed the lives of all she met. We pray for the repose of her soul and look forward to that day when we may be with her again, on the other side.
