Sharon Laverne Turney, age 77, of Houston, Texas passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024. Sharon was born in Houston, Texas on August 28, 1946 to George Lester Turney and LaVerne Starkey. She is survived by two sons Mark Anthony Rendon and James Russell Sims; three granddaughters, Donna Lynn Brown, Tiffany Marie Davis and Rachel Denise Sterling; and two great grandchildren, Carley Grace Davis and Madelyn Alivea Davis. She was preceded in death by son Randall Earl Sims: brother George and sister Gwendolyn.
Sharon loved her family and friends dearly and enjoyed cooking and baking for them. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution as she was very proud and curious about her ancestry and family tree. Along with the help of her niece Bonnie Bley, she was able to trace her family tree many generations. She was also a dedicated football fan who was loyal to her hometown team, Houston Texans. Before that, she was a "Luv ya Blue" Houston Oilers fan. She was also a fan of the Houston Astros. She was also in love with her sweet dog Pepper who also preceded her in death.
