Shaun David Fitzgerald

Shaun David Fitzgerald died unexpectedly January 15, 2014 at the age of 51. Born in Greene, NC, Oct. 30, 1962. He graduated from East Caroline University where he played on the Pirates Golf Team. He was a lifelong insurance professional beginning his career with Guaranty Mutual Life Ins. Co. Shaun had a distinguished career and won many awards for his outstanding service to his clients. He was devoted to his daughters, his clients and golf. Preceded in death by parents Marcia Sue and James J. Fitzgerald. Shaun is survived by his daughters, Caroline Christina Fitzgerald, Sarah Elizabeth Fitzgerald and step-son, Alexander Kinkead Mitchell, and their mother Heather K. Beck (David). He is also survived by his siblings James D. Fitzgerald (Emily), Michael J. Fitzgerald (Helen) and Kelly S. Sotelo (Rudy) and step-mother Deborah Fitzgerald. Shaun is also survived by his fiancée, Jan Doty, his loving companion of many years. Shaun Fitzgerald is also survived by his nieces and nephews Blake and Taryn Fitzgerald, Julia and William Sotelo, and Jared Fitzgerald. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home 1300 Katy Frwy. followed by the service at 10:00 a.m. Afterwards he will be buried next to his parents. In lieu of flowers his daughters request donations to The Leukemia/Lymphoma Society or The Periwinkle Foundation.
