Sherrie Beth Duke passed away peacefully at home, in her bed, surrounded by family on May 27, 2024. It is believed her heart gave out when she found out that the “Today’s Special Value” on QVC was out of stock.
Mom was born July 7,1944 in Houston, Texas and was always a Houstonian even during a short stint in San Antonio. She graduated from Reagan High School in 1962.
Mom is the beloved wife of the late Carl H. Duke, the daughter of the late Alton and Bethine Beasley.
Sherrie leaves behind her son, Kevin, his wife Ami; daughter Shawnna, her husband Kevin; Grandchildren Garrett, Abigail and Brayden Duke; sister Cathy; and brother Danny. Numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mom loved antiquing in earlier years until became difficult and she discovered her passion for home shopping. As a result has left behind a lot of stuff that her family has no clue what to do with, we will have a suggestion box at the door.
Mom passed on Memorial Day, and as a true Patriot loved her red, white and blue. The house was always decorated for the occasion, and she proudly flew her flag out front year-round, lit at night of course.
Sherrie was the greatest Mom, Grandmother, Sister and Friend, she was always a giver that loved nothing more than providing for others. Whether it was a special gift for family, a friend or making sure someone’s children had something at Christmas or on birthdays, she was always looking for that special gift for someone.
The family would like to thank her care givers and those that helped her in life and death. Her friends and caregivers Mickey, Lilly and Santos.
Services will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in the Texas Liberty Mausoleum & Chapel at 13001 Katy Freeway Houston Texas, 77079 at 10:00 AM on Friday May 31st.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sherrie’s memory may be made to Tunnels to Towers. She would want you to get out and vote republican in the upcoming election in her memory as well.
