Shirley Mae Ann Punch, born to Leo and Lelia Mayeaux in New Orleans on December 14, 1926, went home to the Lord on May 29, 2014. She was happiest while gardening and enjoying her three C's: Coke, coffee and cigarettes. She spent her afternoons visiting with her neighbors in Pecan Grove, counting airplanes as they flew overhead, and watching the police catch the speeding cars zooming down the street. Bingo was a beloved pastime. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church and spent most of her life as a house-wife. She traveled the United States taking road trips with her late husband, Charles, and two young daughters, Sheryl and Kathy.
Shirley's surviving family includes her two daughters, Sheryl Malin and Kathy Smith, two son-in-laws, Steve Malin and Craig Smith, four grandchildren, Kelli Khalaf (her husband Sam), Kenneth Mathieu (his wife Mandi), Rachal Thomassie, Jaime Smith (her husband Jose), and three great-grandchildren, Celia Khalaf, Weston Mathieu and Eli Mathieu.
