Shirley Faye Sutton

Shirley Champion Sutton passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 26, 2023. Shirley was born in Leland Mississippi November 2, 1930 to Vollie & Addie May Champion. She was married to Vernon, the love of her life for 63 years. Vernon worked in the pipeline industry so they traveled and moved often. They settled in Porter Texas where Shirley ran a senior citizen mobile home park. She was always busy working around the park and made many lifetime friends. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother and Memaw. She loved her family fiercely.

She was preceded in death by husband, Vernon Sutton, mother and father, Addie May & Vollie Champion, her siblings, Marie Sanders, Coren Hollingsworth, Lura May Trainer, Mozelle Edington, Doris Champion, James Champion, Frank Champion and Bobby Champion.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Janie Roach & husband Gary, Sandra Jones and her husband Boyd. Grandchildren, Kim Farnsworth & husband Chris, Tineal Bowling, Michelle Churton & husband Casey, Mandy Shanklin & husband Blain, Kellie Langley & husband Nathan and BJ Jones. Great-Grandchildren, Karli Bowling, Kiersten Burling, Alyssa Hitt, Haylee Hitt, Rylee Langley, Burke Shanklin, Taylor Langley, Emalyn Churton, Paisley Shanklin and Anabel Churton. Great Great Grandson, Weston Smith. Sister, Nelda Wilburn.

She will forever live in our hearts.

A visitation for Shirley will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Monday, October 2, 2023 at 10:30 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A burial committal will occur Monday, October 2, 2023 at Brookside Memorial Park.
