I’m so sad to hear that Shon has passed. We dated for a while from 1987 to 1988. I loved to watch
Shon race motocross and encouraged him in the sport he loved so much. I remember one evening when I met his son, who was around 4 at the time. We met up for pizza and his son asked me why my hair was 2 colors 🤣😂. I had blonde highlights but my hair was dark at the roots. We all got a big laugh about it.  He loved his son so much.  I have some great pics of Shon along with some great memories. I love Shon very much💔

He always had a joke and good attitude that made the work fun.

My heart hurts for you and Steven. You definitely didn't deserve this. You were my first love and my High School sweetheart. We were so young trying to start our adult life. We got married in 1980. Our first date was the Thanksgiving Parade downtown. We had a lot of fun times, bad times and some struggles and lots of laughter along the way. My parents loved you like a son as well as my family did. You were always a hard worker and always gave it your all. If anyone needed any help you were the one  they trusted the most. We were both shocked when we found out we were going to parents and only had 4 1/2 months to get it together. We were so exited we didn't even want to know the sex....we were BLESSED with healthy beautiful boy----Steven Patrick Deaton. We raised him to be very respectful, kind and to be the best man, husband and father just like you. You should be very proud!! I love you Shon and always will you are the father of our son. GOD took another good man to soon way before his time. You will be dearly missed. RIP till we meet again. Maybe gone but not forgotten. Our memories with you will last forever.

We are heart broken to see that GOD decided to take you home so soon.  I know its been awhile since we talked but I do know you played a huge roll in a lot of peoples lives.  You enjoyed the time spent with your son Steven and grandson Nathan.  Your parents will be so proud of the caring and loving son they raised knowing you spent the last several years taking care of them and now you get to be with them in GOD's Kingdom.  No more pain and suffering which was a tragedy for us all to see what you went through.  You will be missed dearly by your family and friends.  Get those Angel Wings and watch over and protect the rest of us until we are called home.

A Tribute to Shon Deaton - A Heart of Gold, Hidden Beneath the Shadows
Shon was a man woven from contradictions: a tapestry of laughter and heartache, of struggles bravely faced privately. Through these struggles, the core of his being was a heart of pure gold, shining brightest in the moments when he was most needed. 
He was a man who could light up a room with his infectious smile and quick wit, always ready with a joke or a story to share.  He tirelessly cared for his aging parents and devoted himself to his ailing brother in his final days. 
His love for his family was unwavering, a constant beacon in his life. He was the pillar of support, the one who always showed up! His commitment to his family was a testament to his deep capacity for love and compassion. 
While his life may not have followed the traditional path of success, Shon found his own victories in the small acts of kindness, in the laughter he shared with friends, and in the love he poured into his son and grandson! His legacy is not one of perfection, but of resilience, of a man who, despite his flaws, always strived to be better, to be present, and to make a positive impact on the lives of those around him. 
We remember Shon for the love he gave so freely, for the joy he brought into our lives, and for the unwavering strength he displayed in the face of adversity. His memory will forever be a reminder that even in the darkest of times, a good heart can shine brightly.

There are no words to say how much I’ll miss you. Your hard work and dedication is something I’ve always admired. Especially through your long career in welding, it taught me so much about life. You always led by example, and I’m grateful for every lesson.

I’ll forever cherish the memories of all the games we watched together, Oilers,Rockets, Astros, and theTexans. We had an  unforgettable trip to Lambeau Field in the snow, a bucket list moment for both of us. Your pranks, witty comments, and jokes always kept life fun, and I’ll miss them more than I can say.

Although we didn’t say it often, I love you more than you know!

Love you so much, Dad. Thank you for everything.
