Stella Marie Hernandez

On June 15, 2024 Stella Olivas Hernandez, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away joining her husband of 52 years Joe Hernandez, Jr. whom had just passed on June 4, 2024. She was born December 20, 1948 in Houston, Texas to Roque and Mercedes Olivas, but raised by her mother and step-father Joe C. Villarreal. She was a sweetheart of a woman and devoted to her husband and family. Stella and Joe were never apart from each other and she wanted to be with him. She wanted to do things her way.

She was a loving mother to their children, Alfred Hernandez (Mary Ann), Javier Hernandez (La Shawn), Monica Garcia (Jose); Kristen Brunck (Brian).

She had 15 grandchildren: Melissa Marie Garcia, Roberto De Jesus Garcia, Laura Jean Garcia, Rosalie Hernandez, Vito Hernandez, Jazen Hernandez, Alexandra Hernandez, Taylor Hernandez, Aracely Kane, Barbara Ann Hernandez, Maria Elena Guerrero, Ellisa Vicky Guerrero, Javier Guerrero, Jr. and Jerry Brunck; along with 1 great-granddaughter, Aria Rose Kane.

She was the second oldest child of seven. Her siblings are Isabel Olivas, John Villarreal (Angela); Madelyn Zuniga (Ruben): Victor Villarreal (Susie), Raymond Villarreal, Joe Martin Villarreal (Pat) and Eddie Villarreal.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roque and Mercedes Olivas, step-father Joe C. Villarreal, brothers John and Joe Martin and sister-in-laws Angela and Susie.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Joe and Stella’s love for each other was truly a love without end, they walked together in life and now dance in heaven together.
