

Steven Craig Froemming passed away on August 3,2024 in Houston, Texas following complications from heart surgery. Steve was born on March 9, 1946 in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in Parkersburg, Iowa where he graduated from high school in 1964. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1966 to 1972 and was stationed in both Vietnam and Korea as an intelligence officer. He was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds sustained during his service. After his honorable discharge from the Army in 1972, Steve began a sales career in the food industry that spanned until his passing. Steve had a lifelong passion for golf and was known for his skill on the golf course.
In 2022, he was reunited with his first wife, Faith, and they spent the last two years of his life together in Sugar Land, Texas. They had a very happy life together and took wonderful care of each other.
Steve is survived by Faith, and his two children – Maria and Stephen Froemming and their spouses Daniel and Kacy, as well as 6 grandchildren- Faith, Alex, Adrienne, Kayleigh, Maddie and Carson as well as his adorable great-granddaughter, Izzy Rae. Steve is also survived by his sister, Dala Campbell, her husband Jerry, and his nephews Lt. Colonel Sam Campbell and Travis Campbell and their families. He will be sorely missed by his sweet pup, Winston, who has been his constant companion for the last 9 years.
Steve had a big heart and will be missed greatly by all of his family and friends.
Burial will take place at a later date as the family is working to have Steve and his father, Wayne buried at Houston National Cemetery together so the entire family can honor them both and their service to our country at the same time. In honor of Steve’s service and his love for his sweet pup Winston, who was a lifeline to him during difficult times, the family asks that those who wish make a donation to K9s for Warriors, a charity that aims to help veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury or military trauma by providing highly trained service dogs which are rescue dogs to them, to facilitate collective healing and recovery.
