

Steven W. Thompson passed away on January 30, 2015, surrounded by family. Steve lived life to its fullest with no regrets and a strong faith in God's will. This faith sustained his family and friends during his journey with cancer. Steve had a wonderfully generous heart and spirit that touched many.
Steve was born in Houston, Texas on September 10, 1963 to Charles and Janice Thompson. He graduated from Houston Robert E. Lee High School in 1981. He attended Texas A&M University and is a member of the Class of ’85. While at A&M, Steve was a member of B-Battery, Artillery Band of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band in which he was a Drummer – the Heartbeat of the Pulse of Aggieland. Upon graduation he began a successful career in real estate appraisal, specializing in the hospitality industry.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Beth Thompson, his sons Christopher and Matthew, and the joy of his life, granddaughter Harper. He is also survived by his parents, brother Jeff Thompson and wife Linda, father in-law Joseph Clevenger and wife Norine, as well as numerous brother in-laws, sister in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and dear friends.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center – Brain and Spine Center and the Proton Therapy Center, specifically, Drs. Charles A. Conrad, Anita Mahajan and Jeffrey S. Weinberg.
The family will be present to receive friends on Friday, February 6th, from 5 pm to 8 pm, at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home located at 1010 Bering Drive, Houston, Texas 77057. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held on Saturday, February 7th, at half-past Noon, at Christ the King Lutheran Church located at 2353 Rice Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77005. (Please park on the Rice Football Stadium Lot at Entrance 13A on Greenbriar Dr.) The family will greet friends in the fellowship hall after the service.
