Sue was born on September 22, 1934 in Pawhuska Oklahoma to Harry and Gladys Stringer Lane. She had two brothers, Jim and Bob Lane, that have predeceased her.
She attended Oklahoma State and soon after met her husband of 63 years, John Vincent Yard in a Sunday school class. They raised 4 children, Linda Yard Padovani, Susan Yard Genitempo Hayes, John Paul Yard and Robert Lane Yard.
Sue walked her faith, she loved her church family at Chapelwood UMC and was a devoted member and volunteer there. She also enjoyed many years of volunteering with Houstons Homeless program S.E.A.R.C.H./House of Tiny Treasures. In 1972 she helped start Fair Haven Dayschool for Young Children and continued to teach there for 40 years. She was a true advocate for young children.
Sue is survived by her husband John, their four children, daughter-in-law Grace Martinez Yard, sons in law Brandon Hayes and Bernard Padovani, 10 grandchildren, 2 great -grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Strong Faith in the Lord, commitment to giving back, and unconditional love made her a wonderful mother and friend.
She will be dearly missed.
