Susie Hernandez

Susie Hernandez was born December 3, 1943 in Houston, Texas to Anthony and Rosie Montez Martinez and passed away at the age of 79 on Tuesday evening, October 17, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones in her home comfortable in her own bed.

Susie was a selfless person who always put others first, she was a natural nurturer to many people and loved being around her family and friends. Susie had a young spirit and loved to laugh and dance in her living room with her husband, her kids and grandchildren.

She was often caught gardening in her beautiful backyard, taking walks and trips with her husband, family and friends; She was always loving on animals and collecting beautiful angels. She was a friend to many and made long-term friendships that have lasted a lifetime.

Susie in her selflessness nature also enjoyed helping raise her grandchildren and instilled many great qualities in them that will carry her spirit on for generations to come; she had a wonderful sense of humor and loving spirit.

Susie loved the Lord very much and was praising God in her last moments and expressing her love for her husband, children and grandchildren.

Susie is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ruben Hernandez; Her daughter, Veronica Warwick and Veronica’s husband, James; Susie’s son Carlos Hernandez and her son, Ruben Hernandez and his wife, Jennifer; Susie's brother, Carlos Rene Martinez and wife, Patricia; Susie’s grandchildren; Stephenie Jelensky and her husband, Sky; Desiree Koike; Giavanna Warwick; Nathan Castillo, Jennavi Hernandez, Jessica Hernandez and, Elijah Hernandez; Her great-grandchildren are, Preston Jenkins, Greyson Jenkins, Stella Jelensky, Maverick Jelensky, Yuki Koike and Rei Koike along with other extended family and friends.

All whom she loved with her entire being and will anxiously be awaiting for in Heaven with open arms.

Susie’s Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church with burial following at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00pm. Serving, as pallbearers will be Rene Hernandez, Ruben Hernandez, Nathan Castillo, James Warwick, Ysidro Martinez, Gilbert Martinez, David Martinez and Nick Martinez.
